    One man's junk is another's treasure! 
    70 + Yard Sale Vendors on Main Street.  

    Join us on Main Street in Marion for our Annual Spring Sidewalk Yard Sale!
    The yard sale will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Main Street in downtown Marion.
    You must register to sell. We begin accepting registrations for sidewalk spots on April 1, 2025. To register, call 828-652-2215 on or after April1 (not before).
    If we are on the other line or out of the office, please leave a detailed voicemail with your name, phone number and the number of spaces you'd like to reserve for your registration. We will return your call as soon as possible.
    It is $10 per spot, collected the morning of the sale. We do not offer a way for people to pay electronically for this event.

    "It’s a Squeal”
    5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
    Join us for a "squealin'" good time in Downtown Marion on June 7th! We will have free kids activities, a hog callin' and pig squealin' contest plus a food truck rodeo!
    You vote for the best livermush dish. The best Food Truck livermush dish earns a trophy! Winning hog callers and pig squealers win $25.00 and a free 2025 Livermush T-Shirt.
    On top of that, we will have live music and will be hosting over 70 craft vendors! A good time will be had by all!
    Craft Vendor Applications are projected to be available by mid February 2024.

    6:00 p.m. 4th of July Parade, Grand Marshals are McDowell County veterans
    6:30 p.m. Street Dancing with live band 
    9:30 p.m. Fireworks

    Free Inflatables for the kids
    Food Vendors
    Bring your folding chair!

    Band and food vendor details to be added in the near future.

    This all happens on Main Street, Downtown Marion. Street Parking available on side streets, in the Tailgate Market Lot and City Parking Lots on the West Side of Main St.

    The yard sale will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Main Street in downtown Marion.

    Family and kid friendly activities, craft vendors, live music and a large assortment of food trucks will be available.

    Annual Mountain Glory Festival

    Arts & Crafts Street Festival

    Celebrate small-town life in the mountains at the 42nd Annual Mountain Glory Festival on October 11th, 2025. From 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM

    For 42 years, beautiful downtown Marion has hosted this popular celebration on the 2nd Saturday in October.  Visitors looking for original handicrafts will find plenty of shopping choices with three jam packed blocks, featuring over 150 craft, food, non-profit and sponsor booths of locally made arts and crafts; festival foods and pubs with local wines, mead and beers.  Plus, two stages presenting Marion’s finest musicians.  

    Don't miss the annual Mountain Glory Quilt Show inside the McDowell Arts Council. The quilt show is the gallery's featured October exhibit.  

    The kids will have fun in the "Kid's Korner" with hands-on activities, local entertainment and the ever popular best-dressed pet contest.  

    Shuttle services will run from Rose’s parking lot to the Festival site every half hour.  Shuttle service is free.  Handicap Parking will be available behind State Farm Insurance.  

    You might even see Bigfoot, Marion’s Mascot!

    Marion Christmas Parade

    Kickoff the holiday season with the City of Marion's Christmas Parade on Sunday, November 23.
    If you are interested in being in the parade, we begin registering participants on  October 30. Please come to the Marion Business Association office at 58 Depot St to register to march or ride in this family fun event. 
    Please note our office is closed on Wednesdays. 

    Spectators are welcome on Main Street to watch the festive procession!
